Date : 22.09.2005 A noisy reception greeted Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos' visit to London recently, when supporters of the Embargoed! lobby group demonstrated outside Downing Street. There were boos and jeers, with many supporters wearing gags over their mouths to show how Turkish Cypriots have effectively been gagged from telling their side of the Cyprus problem. Mr Papadopoulos was in London for talks with Prime Minister Tony Blair and following his departure, a small delegation from the Embargoed! Group presented their Charter of Fundamental Rights for Turkish Cypriots to Number Downing Street. |
